Santa is going to make a stop at Hillcrest to visit all of our friends. Stop by the front desk to sign up for Parent’s Night Out and a holiday hair cut for your child. We will be collecting hats, scarves and mittens for those less fortunate. Their will be a tree to place your donations by the front desk. Thank you in advance for your participation. Be on the look out for a vision screening, hearing screening and ident-a kid program in the new year.

Dear Parents, The children really enjoyed our Thanksgiving feast and learning about sharing. I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving. The weather is getting colder and it’s getting dark earlier but the wonderful feeling of Christmas ! The children are excited that Santa will be visiting us at Hillcrest on Tues. 12/13 & Wed., 12/14 December will be a special month for us as wee are making special holiday gifts, singing holiday songs and decorating our class tree. We will also be learning about the weather and all of the fun things that come with it such as; rainbows, snowflakes, and sun showers. Our Christmas party will be on Fri., 12/23. A “Christmas Tree” sign up sheet will be posted on our door.

Dear Parents, Thank you for making our Thanksgiving Feast a success. We have one more party planned before the end of the year. Our Holiday Party will be on Fri., Dec. 23. If you would like to contribute a sign-up sheet will be posted on our door and remember to wear something holiday themed. This month we have many holiday projects planned. We will also be reading holiday stories. If you have a holiday book that your child would like to share with the class, feel free to send it in. We have been teaching the children sign language with great success. They’ve been using it in the classroom and parents have been telling me that they’re using it at home. We will continue to teach sign language as well as review shapes and colors this month. Mrs. Shannon will be going on maternity leave starting in December. Ms. Danielle will be taking over for Mrs. Shannon during her leave. They have, along with Ms. Stephanie, been working together since the beginning of the year. We are looking forward to an easy transition but if you any questions or concerns please feel free to stop at the office.

Dear Parents, The holidays are quickly approaching and we are preparing for a very busy month. The children will be making a special family gift, decorating cookies and visiting with Santa. Santa will be at Hillcrest on Tues., 12/13 and Wed., 12/14. He will be accepting a wish list from the children to take back to the North Pole. If you do not want your child to visit with Santa please let us know. Thank you to all of our parents that made donations to our Thanksgiving Feast, the Pilgrims and Indians really enjoyed themselves. Our Holiday Parties will be on Tues., 12/20 and Wed., 12/21. We will be decorating cookies to share with our families. A request form will be coming home for a certain item to be brought for the party. We will continue to go outside on a daily basis, weather permitting. Please dress your child appropriately and label all of your child’s jacket, hats and gloves. We wish a happy and safe Holiday season to all of our children and their families.

We would like to give a special thanks to all the parents for their contributions to our celebration. December is going to be another fun and busy month. We have many activities planned for the holidays. The children will be learning not only about Christmas, but Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa as well. We will be having our holiday party on Thurs., Dec. 21. If you would like to donate goodies for our parties, a sign up sheet will be on our class news board right on our wall. Please remember that Hillcrest will be closed on Monday 12/26 Santa will be at Hillcrest on Tues., 12/13 and Wed., 12/14. Dear Parents, Happy Holidays! Our Thanksgiving feast was a great success. The children enjoyed the delicious treats. During the month of December we will continue taking buggy rides daily, weather permitting, so please send in hats, gloves and a warm coat for your child. The fresh air is good even for a short period of time. We will continue working on sensory development. We will have pudding, Jell-O, and whipped cream play. We enjoy reading books, showing colorful pictures, and singing our favorite songs with puppets. Our younger babies will have tummy time and we will encourage them to lift their heads. Some children are starting to sit up, crawl and walk. Our holiday party will be on Fri., 12/23. A sign up sheet will be posted on the door if you would like to contribute.
